The photos taken with the Mate 10 Lite’s four-camera configuration are decent, but they’re nowhere near as good as those from its higher-end predecessors. They look very sharp in perfect light and lack detail in the dark, especially at the edges.

However, the quality of your photographs is still going to be poor. The bokeh effect isn’t as accurate as you would expect and your subject’s face tends to get blurry, even when the software tries to soften it up.

GFXBench shows the Mate 10 Lite running at around 10% under load, which is very good for a SoC in this price range. This translates into a battery life of about two hours on the web, half an hour talking, and one hour of YouTube watching.
The IPS LCD screen has enough sharpness, very deep blacks, excellent contrast, and brightness. In addition, sunlight legibility is average for an LCD unit.
On the software side, the device comes with Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.1. It will get an update to EMUI 8.0 when the upcoming Oreo version of Android arrives.
This version of EMUI has some quirks, including a lack of a power saving mode and obtrusive notifications for power-intensive apps. Luckily, you can disable them by going into the Settings menu.
The Mate 10 Lite is also equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter, both of which work well. The dual camera setup is a nice feature and offers a number of options such as bokeh and manual focus.
